Medication reminders
that won't let you forget

NagRX keeps alerting you with sound and haptics until you acknowledge each dose. No more missed medications.

Features

Everything you need to stay on top of your medication schedule.

🔔

Persistent Alerts

NagRX re-alerts you every few minutes with full-volume audio and strong haptics until you respond. Configurable from 1 to 10 minutes.

🔇

Bypasses Silent Mode

Alarm audio plays through a background audio session, so you'll hear it even when your phone is on silent or locked.

📅

Flexible Scheduling

Set reminders daily, on specific days of the week, or monthly. Choose a specific day, the first day, or the last day of each month.

📱

Home & Lock Screen Widgets

Add widgets in five sizes. When a medication is due, the widget turns red. Tap it to dismiss the alarm instantly.

🎵

10 Built-In Sounds

Choose from 10 distinct alert sounds. Set a default or assign a unique sound to each medication so you know which one is due.

📳

Intense Haptics

Aggressive staccato vibration patterns that repeat for up to 5 minutes. Impossible to sleep through.

How It Works

1

Add your medications

Enter each medication with its name, time, frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly), and preferred alert sound.

2

Get alerted

When it's time, NagRX fires a notification with audio and haptics. If you don't respond, it keeps re-alerting at your configured interval.

3

Acknowledge or snooze

Long-press the notification and tap "I Took It" to dismiss, or "Snooze 15 min" to be reminded again shortly. Tapping the banner itself also snoozes.

4

Check your widgets

Glance at your home screen or lock screen widget to see if any medications are due. Tap the widget to dismiss all active alarms.

Important: Keep the App Running

NagRX needs to stay in the background to deliver reliable alerts.

⚠️

Don't Force-Quit NagRX

NagRX plays alarm audio through a background audio session. This is what allows it to bypass silent mode and deliver loud alerts even when your phone is locked. If you swipe the app away in the app switcher, iOS terminates that session and alarms will fall back to standard notification sounds that respect the silent switch.

For the most reliable experience, leave NagRX running in the background at all times.

  • 🔕 Don't swipe it away. After opening NagRX, just press the Home button or swipe up to go home. The app will keep running silently in the background.
  • Enable Time Sensitive Notifications. Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → NagRX and turn on Time Sensitive Notifications so alarms break through Focus modes and Do Not Disturb.
  • 🔄 Enable Background App Refresh. Go to iOS Settings → General → Background App Refresh and make sure NagRX is turned on. This keeps alarms up to date even when the app isn't in the foreground.
  • 🔋 Battery impact is minimal. The background audio session plays a silent loop at zero volume. The power draw is negligible — similar to having a podcast app paused in the background.
  • 📌 64 notification limit. iOS allows a maximum of 64 pending local notifications. NagRX automatically divides the budget across your medications so each one gets multiple upcoming reminders scheduled.
